Attend Our Events and Programs

 

The Guild proudly raises funds for the Greenburgh Public Library through events and programs. Past events have included the Books and Cooks fundraising event, partnership with Spoken Interludes, and presentations by authors and artists.

Types of Gifts

 

Unrestricted and Restricted Gifts. Supporters may make unrestricted gifts, which underwrite the general purposes of the Guild and fund projects chosen in consultation with the Library Director. Donors can also make restricted gifts for projects selected by the donor in consultation with the Guild.

 

Corporate Matching Gifts. If you work for a corporation or business with a matching gift program, your gift may qualify for a company match, potentially doubling or tripling the impact of your donation! Check with your human resources department for details. 

 

Honor and Memorial Gifts. You may make a contribution in memory of a loved one or to mark a special occasion, such as a birth, graduation, or anniversary. We will send your honoree or his/her family a note acknowledging your special recognition.

 

In-Kind Gifts. Contributions of goods and services can provide valuable support to the Library. If you or your business would like to discuss an in-kind donation, please use the contact information below to reach the Guild President.

 

Naming Opportunities. Donors interested to explore naming a space or special program may contact Guild President Kathy Wilson.

 

Bequests. Making a gift as part of your estate can be as simple as listing the Greenburgh Library Guild as a beneficiary in your will, retirement plan, or life insurance policy. You may include the Guild in your will by naming a specific gift amount or by leaving a portion of your estate.  Here is sample language you may use.

 

 

 

 

 

How to Make Your Gift

You may make your gift in one of these ways:

By stock transfer. If you are interested to make a gift of appreciated stock, please contact the Guild President, Kathy Wilson, as noted below.

 

 

Specific Gift. I give, devise, and bequeath to the Greenburgh Library Guild, headquartered in Elmsford, NY, the sum of (insert the dollar amount) to be used for the general support of the Greenburgh Public Library or for the support of its ___________ program(s).

Residual Gift. I give, devise, and bequeath to the Greenburgh Library Guild, headquartered in Elmsford, NY, all (or state a percentage) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for the general support of the Greenburgh Public Library or for the support of its ____________ program(s).
