CHILDREN'S LIBRARY RENOVATION
In 2017 the Guild funded renovations to the 10,000 square foot Children’s Library, creating a more child-friendly, welcoming, flexible, and family-centered space. The area now feels more open, warm, and spacious.
-
Colorful, comfy furniture, and reading nooks are a hit with both kids and caregivers. What a wonderful place to hang out!
-
Older kids are exploring more books on their own now that they can reach the top most shelves.
-
Pre-school kids love playing with creative toys on the new discovery table.
-
Librarians appreciate the ease of creating flexible spaces for special programs as well as the improved sightlines and added book display.
In 2019 the Guild completed the renovations to the Activity room which includes new carpeting and storage units.
As one of Greenburgh Public Library’s most heavily used areas, the improved Children’s Library is well designed to nurture a lifelong love of reading and learning for our children.
